PitmanLiposuction™ is the dedicated liposuction center at the plastic surgery offices of Gerald H. Pitman, M.D. in New York City. The center is devoted to providing safe, effective liposuction.
PitmanLiposuction™ also refers to the specific methods and techniques used by Dr. Pitman in performing safe, effective liposuction.

Dr. Pitman is expert in the full range of cosmetic surgery and routinely performs tummy tucks, breast surgery and facial plastic surgery. These procedures may be done in combination with liposuction to maximize results in appropriate patients.
Dr. Pitman uses the following techniques:
- Local Anesthesia (Tumescent Techniques)
- Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) –gentle vibrations to loosen and remove excess fat
- Internal ultrasound (Vaser™)
- Lasers (Smartlipo™, Slimlipo™ and other devices) –includes the new Smart Lipo MPX
- Water-assisted liposuction (Body-Jet™)–water pulsations to flush out unwanted fat
- Body Tite™ (Radio-frequency assisted liposuction) – radio frequency waves to melt fat and tighten skin. (Pending FDA approval.)
